Posts: | I have recently bought a new PC and was lookin forward to playing Halo just for online multiplayer but i have the same problem as so many others. My specs are
Windows XP
3GHz
512 RAM
80GB Hard Drive
128Mb Geforce FX5200
I talked with sum friends and found anybody that runs Halo using the Geforce FX chip has serious lag and graphic problems especially in outdoor environments. I have to run at lowest spec for any kind of smooth play. Sucks *****!!! |

Works fine; for people still struggling with your FX Series cards, maybe it is the card, yet the FX series isn't in the un-supported chip-set section; maybe it needs to be added? maybe.... But iv'e spoken to some friends too, and they're G-Force graphics card works fine with Halo; like i say maybe FX is un-supported ( i was tempted to buy one a few days ago too)..Pheeeeew; xD - anyway wna contact me: Devilishkidd@hotmail.com - old e-mail address, don't worry about the name ya^^ |

Posts: 94 | i have a Geforce Fx 5500 and found that i can play it fin in most areas with the resolution on 640x400 with everything on full. Then i found that if you add the argument -use14 or -use 11 (changeing the pixel shader version to either 1.4 or 1.1 instead of 2.0) in the command line prameter thingy, it will increase the performance by loads and only reducing the graphics by a VERY small and almost unnoticable amount, and i managed to bump up the resolution to 800x600 and notice no decrease in performance. With that it works fine just about everywhere. But if you want to keep the pixel shaders up to the max and are using a GeForce FX chipset, then i suggest lowering the resolution to 800x600 or 640x400 to get good performance |

Posts: 1 | my system: Gateway profile 4 SE, 512 MB's of ram, 2 ghz processor, PCI express Geforce 7800 Gts, (384 mb vram) im having problems with bad lag while running halo, i dont think that it would be a prob with my system cuz it runs games like battlefeild 2 and call of duty series great, all settings turned, why it dont run halo great boggles my mind cuz these games are way more hard advanced than halo, so WTF! |

Mine works fine after I downloaded the updates. |
