Halo 2 News
A few more facts and rumors from this article have recently either come to light, or have been debunked completely.
In that article, I noted that the planet inside the Shield World was called Sigma 7, as it said in the magazine articles I had researched. The planet is actually know known to be called Requiem..
Spartan Ops does indeed replace Firefight. It is basically 343's version of the Bungie Weekly challenges.
Multiplayer returns as per expected. But instead of being only planet based warfare, turns out it's also partly on a holodeck on a UNSC ship known as the Infinity. I'm guessing that someone at 343 was a Star Trek fan! ^_^
The UNSC Infinity will also play a role in the singleplayer campaign. Whether this means that John-117 will make contact with the Spartan IV's stored on Infinity or not remains to be seen at this point.
Forge Mode and Theater Mode are both returning. Halo Reach featured Forge World. I wonder if the next step that in Halo 4 would be "Forge World 2.0", where you actually have Forge control over an entire planet. Hey! This fanboy can dream!

Halo 2 News
You may all remember that a little while ago, I posted a list of rumors and possible facts about Halo 4.
A few of those have been recently confirmed, with one adjusted.
Confirmed Facts:
-Halo 4 takes place 4 years after Halo 3, and not 7 years like I was lead to believe from the Xbox World magazine article I read.
-The Covenant are in the game, but ARE NOT the main enemy of it. I posted this before, and now it is confirmed.
-A new ancient enemy is in Halo 4. In my original post, I mentioned that it was the Prisoner from the Precursor species. While this hasn't technically been confirmed yet, it's most likely that is is true.
-Theater Mode and Forge Mode are returning to Halo 4.
-Firefight has been replaced by a new mode called Spartan Ops. Hopefully, it's better. (I hated Firefight).
A new video has surfaced, further chonicling the making of Halo 4, including a few more detailed looks of MC's new threads.
(PS: I noticed that I said chronicling there. I highly recommend that you go see Chronicle. Great movie. Sorry. Always found that word and all it's forms quite interesting. )
-SuperSmeg
EDIT: Also, new enemy confirmed in that video. Not sure if it's the Prisoner from the Precursor species yet as the rumor in the other news post that I made said, but I really hope that it is.
(Yes, we still don't have a Halo 4 news banner. Get to work! )
Anyway, with Halo 4 a little over 10 months away, and from going over clippings from my Xbox World magazine (subscription cancelled as it was costing too much), some new information has recently come to light.
At this point, most of them are rumors, so read with speculation.
Takes place 7 years after Halo 3
Takes place on a Forerunner Shield World, with a smaller planet called Sigma 7 inside it. Floating structures above the surface of the Shield World, with hanging structures inside it above Sigma 7. Shield Worlds are safety structures, which were designed to protect against premature firing of the Halo rings, similar to what happened 100,000 years ago. Very similar to Dyson Spheres (see Wiki link at the the bottom of this article).
The Shield World was found by UNSC and Covenant forces sometime ago, who became stranded and are still at war with each other without knowing that the actual war is over. The war between these forgotten soldiers may be territorial based.
The Covenant ARE NOT the main enemy of Halo 4. An ancient enemy known as the Prisoner, from the Precursor species that came before the Forerunners, is possibly the "big boss".
A surviving, forgotten group of Forerunners may exist on Sigma 7, that the stranded UNSC and Covenant forces are not aware of.
The Flood are completely exterminated by this point.
New weapons, new vehicles (possibly retrofit by the stranded human and Covenant forces, or original Forerunner tech)
New UNSC tech (official military, or retrofit?)
Master Chief has been out of his cryo-tube several times between Halo 3 and Halo 4
Halo 4 is the start of a new trilogy, unofficially called the "Reclaimer Trilogy"
Halo 5 and 6 already planned, and taking place on next gen console (xbox 720?)
And that's it. I don't suspect that there will be anymore Halo 4 news for a while. Unless a PC version were to suddenly be announced, but since we never got a PC version of Halo 3, then I doubt it.
Would be nice though.
And there is no word on whether Forge Mode or Theater Mode are making a comeback yet, but I hope they do. For now, keeping playing your HD upgrade of Halo 1, keep wishing for a HD upgrade of Halo 2, and keep forgeing in Halo Reach.
And I really hope that there are people that still actually read these articles that I post here.
-SuperSmeg (PS: I have no more files or POTDs to put up. PLEASE UPLOAD SOME!!! I don't even know how many times I have asked you all to do that!!! )
Apparently, there is a user sending out XBL messages containing fake invites to a Halo 4 beta.
If you receive such a message, DO NOT ACCEPT IT!!!!!! It is a phishing scam.
If you accept it, there is a good chance that your account will be comprimised, and your card details used.
That's not the same as saying that there will never be a beta, as to be honest, we don't know if 343 will release one yet. If they do, I will let you know.
That's it. More Halo 4 news to follow, after I have done my research.

Halo 2 News
Like with Halo 3, ODST, and Reach before it, a live action trailer has surface for Halo Anniversary.
This trailer, is essentially a tribute to all the UNSC personel who lost their lives on Harvest, Reach and in New Mombasa.
More than that, like with the Halo Reach light momument that was created during Halo Reach's launch, you are now able to leave your mark on the "living monument".
I am already uploading one of my own screenshots to the monument. Upload any of your screenshots from your years within the Halo verse, and have it live on in cyber history.
Halo Anniversary launches tomorrow, on it's 10th birthday (Nov 15th). Here is my gamertag, incase anyone would like to celebrate the rebirth of a legend.
(GT: Mr TehLegend)
Also, if you are not interested in getting the game tomorrow, a special map pack will available tomorrow on Xbox Live for Halo Reach, which allows you to play the updated Combat Evolved maps in Reach, without having to buy Halo Anniversary, though I don't see why you wouldn't buy Anniversary.

Halo News
That's right boys and girls, there's a new Halo novel out!
October 25'th saw the release of 'Halo: Glasslands', a direct sequel to 'Ghosts of Onyx'. Wonder what became of Halsey and her entourage in the Micro-Dyson Sphere? What became of the Sangheili after the Human-Covanent War ended? What about the UNSC's civil war? All these questions and more will finally be answered!
Follow the link below for more info, or read the Cliff Notes version at the bottom of this post.
"The story follows the events of Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, where Dr. Halsey, Chief Mendez along with a group of SPARTAN-IIs and SPARTAN-IIIs stranded in a massive Dyson sphere within a slipspace bubble. While they are exploring Onyx and attempting to find a way out, ONI director Admiral Margaret Parangosky assembles a black ops team known as Kilo-Five led by Captain Serin Osman, a failed SPARTAN-II candidate and a protege of Admiral Parangosky. The rest of his team consist of a SPARTAN-II, Naomi-010; three ODSTs, Vasily Beloi, Malcolm Geffen, and Lian Devereaux; and the AI construct Black-Box, accompanied by Evan Phillips, civilian academic fluent in the Sangheili language.
Kilo-Five is assigned on a covert mission to sow discord between disparate Sangheili factions by any means necessary, and to bring Dr. Halsey in once she has been located. Meanwhile in the Dyson sphere, Lucy-B091 discovers a local population of Huragok, who assist the human survivors in establishing communications with the ONI ships prowling Onyx's debris field. The shield world is eventually brought into normal space from its slipspace bubble by the Huragok, and Parangosky sends Kilo-Five inside to arrest Halsey, while ONI dispatches science teams to recover Forerunner technologies from the construct.
The story also explores the dissonance the Sangheili find themselves in after the collapse of the Covenant, as well as Sangheili-human relations after the war."
Let's face it.
One of the main reasons to own an xbox is for achievement points (and the awesome multiplayer, but that's besides the point, lol).
It doesn't look like a particularly hard list to finish off, but I figure that you'd want to know them before cementing your decision to buy the game. No xbox obsessive likes to leave this unfinished, especially if you have OCD, like me. But I digress!

The standard download tab issue is still present (it's been a year now), so secondary links will still be added to new file validations.
To get the new files viewable on the site, keep hitting refresh on your internet browser,
If you get presented with an invalid file error page after clicking on it on the main page, keep hitting refresh again on the file page, and eventually you'll see the file description, along with the download link.

Halo 2 News
We have no more POTDs left. Please send some.
Also, expect file validations to resume on Friday. I have 10 files to do, and I will be doing 2 each day. While the bugs are still present, they are workaround-able (is that even a word, lol?).
The pictures are now working, and I will give you instructions as to how to view new files on the site. I just wish that all the bugs could have been eradicated before I decided to resume validations.
The 2 files a day policy will most likely apply each morning, starting on Friday 5th August, UK time. So expect 2 files to be up each day just after 10am (GMT) until I have gone through the whole list.
I want to thank each and every one of the "old gang" of members for sticking around, for not spamming the heck out of comments for various files and POTDs, and for not repeatedly contacting me asking when their files will be viewable even after all the news that has been posted, asking for people to put a hold on their files until everything is ready. You know who you are.
Polls still don't seem to be working properly.
