  Some Halo 2 Vista Details - Previews

Bungie has posted a new update on Halo 2 Vista, which provides answers to several common questions about the upcoming game. Among other things, they remind us again that Halo 2 Vista will not be able to play against people with Halo 2 on Xbox. PLEASE stop asking Bungie about this, as they've probably answered it 20 times already. Halo 2 Vista and Xbox CANNOT PLAY TOGETHER.

Bungie also gives us a bit of information on the number of players per map (same as original), how the game browser will work, and information on LIVE anywhere. Be sure to watch for further updates/developer diaries, as Bungie promises more information on several of these topics, such as cool new features for Vista online. What is different in the online game on Windows Vista?

Windows Vista is a different beast and Halo 2 was originally written with the Xbox in mind. Live Anywhere brings the online experience closer to that found on the Xbox, but there are still differences on Windows Vista. We have made changes to the design of the online systems in Halo 2 to make it more appropriate for the Windows Vista gamer. Some of these changes include dedicated servers, and the ability to configure online games how you want them rather than having them chosen for you as in the Xbox version, support for the keyboard and mouse, text chat, etc. There are loads of really cool things we are doing in this area, and we will let you know about them in future developer diaries.

Oh, and don't forget about the sexy pic of Bill Gates from a few years back.

Posts: 253 		im so impatient waiting for this....argh!!! i wanna make some maps and blast n00bs right now! lol....i hope the game gets a facelift in visuals, but even if it doesnt, it will still be number 1 in my book! Rock have a Beer! Beer! and a Hmmm Donut! , Bungie and Microsoft, you've earned it!

Posts: 231 		How the hell have they earned it? They give us this game after it's been out for years on XBOX and then tell us that it needs a $100-200 OS upgrade just to play it on top of the $60 for the game even though it was designed for a 5 year old system?!?!?

I'm tired of getting kicked in the nads by M$ time and time again. Any money says that it'll be at least 3 more years before Halo 3 comes to the PC...

You're right, they (Bungie and M$wink keep us waiting for WAY TO LONG Halo-Pc was launched shortly before to launch of Halo-2, now that's VILE!


To #3:
you're right, I also use XP, and i was shocked to learn it would work only for Vista. I've been saying to everyone around me for quite some time, M$ is up to something BAD!

This is their down and dirty means of "bussiness". People should make more games compatible with other OSs, so one is not tied to M$. Say 'Macintosh' or 'Linux'?

Posts: 309 		I cant wait for Halo 2 Vista altho i'll have to buy Windows Vista but do agree with post #2 they should have it on XP rather than Vista and since its coming out almost before Halo 3 is out they know just about alot of people are going to buy Halo 3. I do think tho they should release (too bad u cant go back in time) both Halo Xbox and Halo PC a the same time. And then start on Halo 2 but they will have more time on it . And when thats done release it with both the Halo 2 Xbox and Halo 2 PC. They should do the same with Halo 3.
